S&I interface: barely any delays noticed. Updating skill queues: small (<0.25s) bursts of lag upon expanding and collapsing categories. Updating market orders with an IGB looping script running: Estimate of 0.2-0.4s latency funny audio desync.

Updating single market orders: Nearly no perceptible latency. My home connection supposedly has a max of 2 MBPS up I've personally never seen it break 1 MBPS.

I noticed that audio and video seemed to be transmitted independently: desyncing got progressively worse as latency did. Needless to say, that's a rough estimate at best. I used the Chrome Remote Desktop app, which is not too shabby, but also not nearly as good as TigerVNC or others.Īs I knew of no good way of measuring total latency (other than staring at the in-game clock, waiting for it to tick over the minute mark, something I didn't quite feel like doing), I'm only going to be talking about perceived latency between user action and visual response. I tried it in two scenarios: coupled on the same network as my main computer, and connected to a university wireless network several miles away from my home computer. For my purposes, it works amazingly well.įor reference, I have my graphics set to the absolute minimum, captain's quarters and ship spinning disabled, etc. But, as this thread had mixed responses, much like the rest of the internet, I decided to buy a Chromebook from a local store and try it myself. Have been too busy this week's end to get back to this thread. Could barely find anything about this subject on Google / Eve-Search. But I'd rather check first than be disappointed later. It sounds like updating my orders/skill-queues would be perfectly doable even without the need to get anything fancier than the official remote desktop app.

As I'm currently shopping for new computers, and weighing my options, I wanted to ask: has anyone attempted to run on Eve on a Chromebook remote desktoped into a Windows machine?
